Blue Technology Accelerator

MassChallenge, the global network for innovators, and 401 Tech Bridge, a partner intermediary organization for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport, supporting the Naval X Northeast Tech Bridge, have joined forces to launch the Blue Technology Accelerator!
The program, made possible with funding from the Economic Development Administration (EDA), aims to accelerate innovation in Undersea Technology and Offshore Wind. This year’s hybrid program will leverage MassChallenge’s proven methodology in startup acceleration and 401 Tech Bridge’s network, to spur growth for 10 blue technology-focused startups.

The 8-week accelerator program will include an orientation boot camp, bi-weekly cohort meet-ups, workshops, networking, weekly office hours and a final showcase where startups will present their products and capabilities. Programming will be hybrid – meaning all events and meetings will be available online, while startups in Rhode Island/New England will also be able to participate in-person (pending regulations and following safety measures).

Note: You do not need to be based in the United States to apply.

Start-ups with a blue technology focus, and particularly those in the following areas, should consider applying:

  • Undersea/unmanned vehicles
  • Sensors (concepts, signal processing techniques)
  • IT communications
  • Data transfer
  • Digital twins
  • Modeling & simulation
  • Composite materials
  • Cybersecurity
  • Electronic systems
  • Oceanographic research
  • Materials certification
  • Artificial intelligence/machine learning (autonomy & data science)
